Here's the simple version: doxepin already makes you drowsy on purpose, that's how it helps you sleep. Caraway, at least in animal studies, seems to have its own mild calming effect thanks to a compound called carvone. Put the two together and the worry is that they could stack, leaving you groggier than expected, with possible next-morning drowsiness, dizziness, or feeling a bit foggy.

I want to be honest about the evidence though, this is theoretical and based on lab and animal data, not real-world reports in people. The pinch of caraway in your rye bread or soup is not going to be an issue. Concentrated caraway oil or supplements are where I'd pause. Before adding those, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor.
