Ethotoin (Paganone) is an older seizure medicine in the same family as phenytoin. On its own it can leave some people feeling drowsy, dizzy, or a bit foggy. The concern here is simple: caraway, mostly in concentrated oil or supplement form, may have a mild calming or sedating effect of its own. Stack that on top of ethotoin and you could feel sleepier or less steady than usual.

I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is. It comes from animal studies on one compound in caraway, not from people taking it with seizure drugs, so it's a theoretical caution. Sprinkling caraway on rye bread or in a stew almost certainly won't matter. If you're thinking about concentrated caraway oil capsules, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
