Here's the simple version: Ethotoin (Paganone) is a seizure medicine that already slows down brain activity. GHB is a strong central nervous system depressant too. When you stack two things that both calm the brain, their sedating effects can pile up. That means more drowsiness, dizziness, slowed or shallow breathing, confusion, and in a worst-case situation, very deep sedation or breathing that becomes dangerously slow.

I'll be straight with you: GHB outside of a tightly controlled prescription is not a safe supplement, and combining it with ethotoin is a real risk worth taking seriously. The hard evidence here is anecdotal, but the danger of two CNS depressants together is well understood. Please don't change anything on your own. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist first.

Theoretically, GHB may reduce the effects of anticonvulsant medications.
GHB has been reported to cause seizures, and may theoretically reduce the effectiveness of anticonvulsants. Also, concomitant use of GHB with sedative anticonvulsants may increase the risk of serious CNS and respiratory depression.

Ethotoin (Paganone) is a seizure medicine, so the worry here cuts two ways. GHB has actually been reported to trigger seizures on its own, which could work against what your ethotoin is trying to do and make breakthrough seizures more likely. This is a theoretical, anecdotal concern, not something proven in solid studies, so I don't want to overstate it.

The bigger real-world issue is that GHB is a heavy central nervous system depressant. Stacking it with any seizure medicine raises the risk of deep sedation, slowed or stopped breathing, and dangerous drowsiness. Honestly, non-prescription GHB isn't safe to use at all. Please talk with your doctor or pharmacist before mixing anything like this with your ethotoin.

GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate) is a powerful central nervous system depressant that is NOT a safe dietary supplement. In the U.S. it is a controlled substance, and only a tightly regulated prescription form (sodium oxybate) is legal for narcolepsy. Non-prescription GHB can cause coma, breathing failure, and death, and it is also a known 'date-rape' drug — it should not be taken outside of medical supervision.
