Here's the gist for sodium valproate (Epilim): it already has its own calming, sedating side, and one component of caraway, called carvone, showed mild sedative effects in animal studies. So the idea is that pairing the two might add up to a little extra drowsiness, grogginess, or fuzzy thinking. This isn't about caraway changing how your body processes valproate. It's simply two things that can both make you sleepy possibly nudging in the same direction.

Keep in mind this is theoretical, based on lab and animal research, not real-world reports. A sprinkle of caraway on your bread or in a dish is very unlikely to matter. Concentrated caraway oil or capsules are where I'd be more cautious. Before adding a supplement, check in with your pharmacist or doctor.
