In human and laboratory research, cat's claw has been shown to have immunostimulating activity. It stimulates phagocytosis and increases respiratory cellular activity and the mobility of leukocytes. Theoretically, this could interfere with the activity of immunosuppressant medications.

Here's the basic idea: Skyrizi (risankizumab) works by calming down a part of your overactive immune system to ease psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, or Crohn's. Cat's claw seems to do the opposite. In lab and some human research, it appears to rev up immune activity, boosting things like white blood cell movement and phagocytosis. So in theory, the two could work against each other, and that might mean your skin or joint symptoms don't stay as well controlled.

I'll be honest with you though, this concern comes mostly from test-tube and early research, not from real patients combining these two. It's a theoretical caution, not a proven problem. Since people often take cat's claw for joint pain, that overlap is worth a quick chat. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding it, rather than stopping anything on your own.

About Risankizumab-rzaa Injection

What Is Risankizumab-rzaa Injection Used For?

Brand name: Skyrizi

Skyrizi (risankizumab-rzaa) injection is approved to treat moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis and active psoriatic arthritis in adults and children 6 years of age and older. It is also approved for moderately to severely active Crohn's disease and moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis in adults.

For plaque psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, Skyrizi is given as a subcutaneous (under-the-skin) injection. For Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, Skyrizi treatment begins with intravenous (IV) infusions given in a clinical setting, followed by subcutaneous maintenance injections.
