In human and laboratory research, cat's claw has been shown to have immunostimulating activity. It stimulates phagocytosis and increases respiratory cellular activity and the mobility of leukocytes. Theoretically, this could interfere with the activity of immunosuppressant medications.

Here's the idea behind this pairing. Sutimlimab (Enjaymo) is an antibody given by infusion to calm part of your immune system, specifically the classical complement pathway that destroys red blood cells in cold agglutinin disease. Cat's claw, on the other hand, has shown immune-stimulating activity in lab and animal work. So in theory, a supplement that revs up immune cells could work against a medicine meant to quiet the immune system, possibly making it less effective and letting red blood cell breakdown (anemia, fatigue, dark urine) creep back.

I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical concern based on test-tube and animal data, not real cases with this drug. It may never cause a problem. Still, since Enjaymo is doing serious work, please run cat's claw past your doctor or pharmacist before adding it.

What Is Sutimlimab-jome Injection Used For?

Brand name: Enjaymo

Enjaymo (sutimlimab-jome) injection is indicated for the treatment of hemolysis — the breakdown of red blood cells — in adults with cold agglutinin disease (CAD). CAD is a rare autoimmune condition in which the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys red blood cells, especially in cold temperatures.

Enjaymo works to stop this destruction by targeting a key part of the immune system called the classical complement pathway. It is approved for adults only; safety and effectiveness in children have not been established.
