Chenopodium Oil + Isotretinoin
Isotretinoin brand names: Accutane, Amnesteem, Claravis, Sotret, Absorica, and others.
Chenopodium Oil has a moderate interaction with Isotretinoin. Theoretically, concomitant use of chenopodium oil with other photosensitizing drugs can increase the risk of adverse effects.

PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS
Why this applies to Isotretinoin
Isotretinoin falls under PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS — the group Chenopodium Oil interacts with.
Chenopodium species are also associated with photosensitivity.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the simple version. Isotretinoin already makes your skin much more sensitive to sunlight, so it's easy to burn or get red, irritated skin even with brief sun exposure. Chenopodium oil has also been linked to photosensitivity, meaning it can do something similar. Put the two together and the concern is that your skin may react to the sun even more easily than with isotretinoin alone.
I'll be honest with you, this is a theoretical concern based on how each one behaves, not strong proof from studies. It's not about isotretinoin building up in your body. Still, given that chenopodium oil isn't recommended for internal use anyway because of its toxic ascaridole content, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

This page covers Chenopodium Oil only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Isotretinoin page lists 49 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Vitamin A (major), African Wild Potato (moderate), Alfalfa (moderate) and Angelica Archangelica (moderate).
By severity: 2 major · 35 moderate · 12 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Isotretinoin page
“Vitamin A is the first thing anyone on isotretinoin (Accutane, Absorica, Claravis) should check their supplements for, because isotretinoin is itself a vitamin A derivative and stacking more on top can push levels into toxic range. It is one of two major-rated entries among the 49 supplements and herbs known to interact with this acne…”

About Chenopodium Oil
What is Chenopodium Oil?
- Intestinal worms (roundworm, hookworm)
- Digestive upset and gas
- Respiratory complaints
- Skin conditions
- As a culinary seasoning (epazote leaf)
Chenopodium oil is a strong-smelling essential oil from the epazote plant that was historically used to treat intestinal worms. It contains ascaridole, a compound that is quite toxic, and overdoses have caused serious harm, so it is no longer recommended for internal use. Safer modern deworming medicines exist, so talk with a pharmacist or doctor before using this oil.
About Isotretinoin
What Is Isotretinoin Used For?
Brand names: Accutane, Amnesteem, Claravis, Sotret, Absorica, Roaccutane
Isotretinoin capsules — sold under brand names including Absorica, Absorica LD, Accutane, Amnesteem, Claravis, and others — are used to treat severe recalcitrant nodular acne (deep, inflamed acne nodules 5 mm or larger) in non-pregnant patients 12 years of age and older whose acne has not responded to conventional treatments, including systemic antibiotics.
This medication is reserved for serious cases — those with many nodules, not just a few. A single 15- to 20-week course has been shown to produce complete and prolonged clearing in many patients. If a second course is ever needed, it should not be started until at least two months after finishing the first, because acne may continue to improve even after stopping.

Isotretinoin Is Linked to Lower Levels of 4 Nutrients
Natural Medicines records Isotretinoin as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Chenopodium Oil — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
