Here's the simple version: both chenopodium oil and chlorpheniramine have been linked to photosensitivity, which just means your skin may sunburn more easily than usual. Chlorpheniramine (Chlor-Trimeton) is an older antihistamine for sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes, and on its own it can occasionally make some people a little more sun-sensitive. Pairing it with chenopodium oil could, in theory, add to that.

I want to be honest with you, though: this is a theoretical concern based on how these substances behave, not something proven to happen often. The bigger issue is that chenopodium oil itself is considered too toxic for internal use, so please check with your pharmacist or doctor before taking it at all. If you do go outside, sunscreen and covering up are simple, smart precautions.

Chenopodium oil is a strong-smelling essential oil from the epazote plant that was historically used to treat intestinal worms. What Is Chlorpheniramine Used For?

Chlorpheniramine is used to temporarily relieve common allergy symptoms caused by hay fever (allergic rhinitis) or other upper respiratory allergies. These include runny nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, and itching of the nose or throat.

These uses are supported across multiple products — including tablets (such as Aller-chlor, Allergy, Allergy Relief, Allergy Time, Anti Allergy, and Chlorpheniramine Maleate), extended-release tablets (Allergy Relief and Chlorphen-12), the oral solution Ed Chlorped Jr, and the inhalers ClorRelief and ClorRelief KIDs.
