Here's the thing to know about pairing henbane with chlorpheniramine: they push the body in the same direction. Henbane's tropane alkaloids (like hyoscyamine and scopolamine) block acetylcholine, and chlorpheniramine, an older antihistamine, has its own drying, anticholinergic side. Stack them together and those effects can pile up.

In practical terms, that means more dry mouth, blurry vision, constipation, trouble urinating, a racing heartbeat, drowsiness, and even confusion, especially in older folks. This concern is based on how these compounds work rather than hard studies, but henbane is genuinely toxic, so I wouldn't take chances. Please run any henbane product by your pharmacist or doctor before combining it with chlorpheniramine.

Chlorpheniramine is used to temporarily relieve common allergy symptoms caused by hay fever (allergic rhinitis) or other upper respiratory allergies. These include runny nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, and itching of the nose or throat.

These uses are supported across multiple products — including tablets (such as Aller-chlor, Allergy, Allergy Relief, Allergy Time, Anti Allergy, and Chlorpheniramine Maleate), extended-release tablets (Allergy Relief and Chlorphen-12), the oral solution Ed Chlorped Jr, and the inhalers ClorRelief and ClorRelief KIDs.
