Here's the thing about pairing henbane with loxapine: loxapine already carries its own anticholinergic baggage, meaning it can dry you out and slow certain body functions on its own. Henbane brings the very same kind of activity through alkaloids like hyoscyamine and scopolamine. Stack the two and those effects don't just add up, they can pile on each other.

What that looks like in real life is a dry mouth, blurry vision, constipation, trouble emptying your bladder, a racing heart, confusion, or feeling overheated. In older folks especially, that confusion can get serious. This concern is based on how these compounds behave rather than hard studies, but henbane is genuinely toxic, so I'd steer clear and talk with your doctor or pharmacist first.

Loxapine capsules are used for the ongoing treatment of schizophrenia in adults. Adasuve (loxapine inhalation powder) is used in a different, more specific situation: to quickly calm sudden, severe agitation in adults with schizophrenia or bipolar I disorder. Because of serious safety requirements, Adasuve must be given by a healthcare professional in a certified medical setting — it is not a take-home medication.
