Chlorine dioxide has been reported to cause serious complications, including severe vomiting and diarrhea, life-threatening low blood pressure, hemolysis, and acute liver failure. There is insufficient reliable information available about the safety of chlorine dioxide when used topically; avoid using.

At least one FDA label for a product containing Ciprofloxacin says to take it with food. If you take Chlorine Dioxide on an empty stomach out of habit, keep them separate — and take Ciprofloxacin with a meal where the label says to.

Ciprofloxacin belongs to a class of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones. It's prescribed to treat bacterial infections in many parts of the body — including the urinary tract, skin, lungs, bones, joints, and digestive system. It's also used to protect against or treat anthrax and plague after exposure.

Because ciprofloxacin carries real risks, it's reserved for milder conditions like sinus infections, simple bladder infections, and flare-ups of chronic bronchitis only when there are no safer alternatives available.
