Cypress + Clopidogrel
Clopidogrel brand name: Plavix.
Cypress has a moderate interaction with Clopidogrel. In vitro evidence shows that cypress cone extract inhibits blood coagulation in a concentration-dependent manner.

ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Clopidogrel
Clopidogrel falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Cypress interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: Clopidogrel (Plavix) already works to keep your platelets from clumping together, which lowers your clotting ability on purpose. Cypress cone extract appears, in lab studies, to also slow down clotting a bit. So if you stack the two, the concern is an additive effect, meaning you could bruise more easily or bleed a little longer than expected (think nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or oozing from a cut).
I want to be honest about how strong this evidence is though. It rests mostly on test-tube data and a single surgery case report, so it's theoretical and not well proven. The aromatherapy oil used on skin is very unlikely to matter; a daily concentrated cypress supplement is the bigger question. Please don't change your Plavix. Just loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding any cypress product.

About Cypress
What is Cypress?
- Circulation and varicose veins
- Coughs and respiratory complaints
- Excess sweating
- Skin and minor wounds
- Aromatherapy for relaxation
Cypress comes from the Mediterranean cypress tree and is most often used as an essential oil in aromatherapy or skin care, and traditionally for circulation and respiratory complaints. High-quality human evidence for these uses is very limited, so it should not replace proven treatments. The essential oil is for external use only and should be diluted, and you should talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it.
About Clopidogrel
What Is Clopidogrel Used For?
Brand name: Plavix
Clopidogrel is used to lower the risk of heart attack and stroke in people whose arteries are already affected by disease.
Its supported uses are acute coronary syndrome (including unstable angina, non-ST-elevation heart attack and ST-elevation heart attack), a recent heart attack, a recent stroke, and established peripheral arterial disease (narrowed arteries, usually in the legs). For acute coronary syndrome, some product labels say it should be used together with aspirin.
