Dash Diet + Posaconazole
Posaconazole brand name: Noxafil.
We found no known interaction between Dash Diet and Posaconazole in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Dash Diet and Posaconazole
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Posaconazole and Dash Diet in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Dash Diet alongside specific medications may be limited.
Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Dash Diet at all — not against Posaconazole, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.
Dash Diet is an eating pattern rather than something you take. Ask your pharmacist or doctor before changing how you eat while on a prescribed medicine: some medicines are dosed around meals, and a change in diet can change how they work. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.
Dash Diet safety at a glance
Pregnancy & breastfeeding ratings are from Natural Medicines (Therapeutic Research Center) — the full detail is in the Special populations card below. Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.
Dash Diet in Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
When used appropriately, short-term. DASH diets have been used with apparent safety during pregnancy for 4-12 weeks. A modified DASH diet called MAMA-DASH, with adequate nutrition and calories for pregnancy, has been used for 20 weeks without reports of adverse events.
When used appropriately while breastfeeding for up to 6 months. The DASH diet is a balanced diet that is not expected to be harmful during breastfeeding. Observational research in exclusively breastfed infants has found that high adherence to the DASH diet for 4-6 months while breastfeeding is not associated with changes in infant weight, height, or head circumference when compared with low adherence to the DASH diet.

Questions About Dash Diet or Posaconazole
These are real questions from readers, answered by the pharmacists at HelloPharmacist — written by a person, not generated from a database. Each one covers Dash Diet or Posaconazole, not necessarily both, but if one is close to what you were about to ask it will usually go further than a database entry can:

By severity: 1 major · 7 moderate · 9 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Posaconazole page
“All 17 supplements on this posaconazole (Noxafil) list interact the same basic way: they can change how much of the antifungal actually reaches your blood. Posaconazole prevents and treats dangerous fungal infections, often in people with weakened immune systems, so this is a list to take genuine care with.”

Where Dash Diet and Posaconazole Sit Against Everything Else
Out of every supplement and medication people look up on HelloPharmacist, here is where these two land this week — and which way each has been moving.
#1,096 of 1,452 supplements looked up here in the last 7 days
#1,742 of 2,830 medications looked up here in the last 7 days
Position among everything looked up on this site, not a measure of how commonly either one is used or how important it is. A supplement can climb this list because of a news story. It counts every request to the page, automated ones included, and nothing here identifies anyone.
Where does our data come from?
- Source: the Natural Medicines (TRC Healthcare) clinical database — the evidence-graded professional reference for herb & supplement interactions.
- Citation library: 103,510 references behind our interaction content, 65,311 of them resolved to verified PubMed/DOI sources. See every Dash Diet reference on this page ↓
- Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified September 20, 2026. The Dash Diet and Posaconazole records this page draws on were last updated July 11, 2026.
- What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.
About Dash Diet
What is Dash Diet?
- High blood pressure
- Heart health
- Lowering cholesterol
- Weight management
- Healthy eating pattern
The DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diet is an eating plan rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and low-fat dairy, with less salt, red meat, and added sugar. It is one of the best-studied diets for lowering blood pressure and is widely recommended by doctors and dietitians. It is a food-based lifestyle plan, not a pill or supplement.
Eating pattern (whole-food diet plan)
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Dash Diet is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Dash Diet record says about it on its own.
Dash Diet: dosing
There is no pill or standardized "dose" for DASH, since it is an eating pattern rather than a supplement. Instead, the plan suggests target servings each day from food groups like vegetables, fruits, grains, dairy, lean protein, and a limited amount of fats and sweets.Sodium goals are usually set at a moderate level, and there is a lower-sodium version that may lower blood pressure even more. The exact amounts depend on your calorie needs, age, and health goals.A registered dietitian or your pharmacist can help you tailor the plan to your needs. Free DASH guides are also available from the NIH and National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.
From our Dash Diet monograph — the full record covers uses, side effects and every documented interaction.
About Posaconazole
What Is Posaconazole Used For?
Brand name: Noxafil
Posaconazole is used to treat invasive aspergillosis (a serious mold infection that can spread through the body) in adults and certain pediatric patients, depending on the formulation and weight. It is also used to treat oropharyngeal candidiasis (OPC) — a yeast infection of the mouth and throat, including cases that have not responded to itraconazole and/or fluconazole — and this use is specific to the oral suspension in patients aged 13 and older.
Posaconazole is also used for prophylaxis (prevention) of invasive Aspergillus and Candida infections in people at high risk because their immune systems are severely compromised — such as stem cell transplant recipients with graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) or people with blood cancers who have low white blood cell counts from chemotherapy. The specific formulation approved for prevention varies by age and weight.
