Durian + Lixisenatide
Lixisenatide brand name: Adlyxin.
We found no known interaction between Durian and Lixisenatide in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Durian and Lixisenatide
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Lixisenatide and Durian in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Lixisenatide
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Lixisenatide is filed under a single classification — antidiabetes drugs. Durian has documented interactions with 1 drug class — the most serious being alcohol (ethanol) (moderate) — and none of Lixisenatide’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Lixisenatide page
“Lixisenatide (Adlyxin) is injected to lower blood sugar in type 2 diabetes, and nearly everything on this page acts on blood sugar too, which is why I would treat the list with genuine care rather than a shrug. Most of the entries, from bitter melon and fenugreek to both types of ginseng, can push glucose lower still and raise the odds…”

About Durian
What is Durian?
- General nutrition and energy
- Traditional tonic or aphrodisiac
- Digestive support
- Source of antioxidants
- Fever and traditional folk remedies
Durian is a popular tropical fruit valued mainly as a nutritious food rich in carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants. While it has many traditional medicinal uses, there is little solid human research to support health claims beyond basic nutrition, and it is very high in calories. Enjoy it as a food in moderation, and check with your doctor or pharmacist if you have diabetes or other health concerns.
Durio zibethinus · Malvaceae · Fruit (pulp and seeds); rind, leaves, and roots in traditional medicine · Fresh fruit, frozen pulp, dried snacks, powder, capsules, candy, and flavorings
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Durian is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Durian record says about it on its own.
Durian: dosing
There is no established medicinal dose for durian. As a food, a small serving of the pulp is typical, and because it is high in calories and sugar, moderation is wise. For any durian supplement, powder, or extract product, follow the directions on the label.

About Lixisenatide Injection
What Is Lixisenatide Injection Used For?
Brand name: Adlyxin
-
Lixisenatide injection is used along with diet and exercise to treat type 2 diabetes (condition in which the body does not use insulin normally and therefore cannot control the amount of sugar in the blood). Lixisenatide injection is not used to treat type 1 diabetes (condition in which the body does not produce insulin and therefore cannot control the amount of sugar in the blood). Lixisenatide is not used instead of insulin to treat people with diabetes who need insulin. Lixisenatide injection is in a class of medications called incretin mimetics. It works by stimulating the pancreas to secrete insulin when blood sugar levels are high. Insulin helps move sugar from the blood into other body tissues where it is used for energy. Lixisenatide injection also slows the emptying of the stomach and causes a decrease in appetite.
-
Over time, people who have diabetes and high blood sugar can develop serious or life-threatening complications, including heart disease, stroke, kidney problems, nerve damage, and eye problems. Using medication(s), making lifestyle changes (e.g., diet, exercise, quitting smoking), and regularly checking your blood sugar may help to manage your diabetes and improve your health. This therapy may also decrease your chances of having a heart attack, stroke, or other diabetes-related complications such as kidney failure, nerve damage (numb, cold legs or feet; decreased sexual ability in men and women), eye problems, including changes or loss of vision, or gum disease. Your doctor and other healthcare providers will talk to you about the best way to manage your diabetes.
-
Your doctor or pharmacist will give you the manufacturer's patient information sheet (Medication Guide) when you begin treatment with lixisenatide injection and each time you refill your prescription. Read the information carefully and ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions. You can also visit the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) website (http://www.fda.gov/Drugs/DrugSafety/ucm085729.htm) to obtain the Medication Guide.

Lixisenatide Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Lixisenatide as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Durian — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
