Dextromethorphan, Guaifenesin falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Eucalyptus interacts with.

Theoretically, eucalyptus might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that eucalyptus oil might inhibit CYP3A4, although this has not been reported in humans.

Here's the short version: there's a theoretical concern that eucalyptus oil could slow down one of your liver's cleanup enzymes (called CYP3A4), which helps break down the dextromethorphan part of your cough medicine. If that enzyme is blocked, dextromethorphan could build up a bit, which might mean more drowsiness, dizziness, or feeling foggy. The guaifenesin half isn't really affected.

But I want to be honest with you: this idea comes only from lab dish studies, not from real people, so it's far from proven. Breathing in eucalyptus vapor or using a lozenge is very unlikely to cause trouble. Just don't swallow eucalyptus oil, and check with your pharmacist if you feel unusually sleepy.
