ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Telmisartan, Amlodipine
Telmisartan, Amlodipine falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group European Mistletoe interacts with.
Animal research suggests that European mistletoe extracts have hypotensive effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Twynsta combines two blood pressure lowerers: telmisartan (an ARB) and amlodipine (a calcium channel blocker). Both already work to relax your blood vessels and bring your numbers down. The concern here is simple addition. In animal studies, European mistletoe extracts seemed to lower blood pressure too, so layering it on top of Twynsta might push your pressure down a little more than intended.
If that happened, you could feel dizzy, lightheaded, tired, or unsteady when standing up. I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical caution based on lab and animal work, not solid human evidence. Mistletoe should only ever be used under a doctor's supervision anyway, so please loop in your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.

About European Mistletoe
What is European Mistletoe?
- Cancer supportive care
- Immune support
- High blood pressure
- Anxiety and stress
- Inflammation
European mistletoe is a parasitic plant most studied as an injectable extract used alongside conventional cancer care in some European countries, mainly to improve quality of life rather than to cure cancer. The plant is toxic if eaten, and oral or self-treatment can be dangerous, so it should only be used under medical supervision. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using any mistletoe product.
