Cablivi falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Fo-ti interacts with.

Fo-ti has been linked to cases of acute liver failure which can decrease clotting factor production and increase the effects of anticoagulants. In one case, a patient who had been stable on warfarin presented with acute hepatitis and an INR elevated to 14.98. The patient had been taking fo-ti for 90 days prior to admission. Discontinuation of warfarin and fo-ti lead to a decrease in the INR and full recovery. Theoretically, concomitant use of fo-ti with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs may increase the risk of bleeding in some patients. Until more is known, monitor patients taking fo-ti and drugs that affect bleeding.
Some of these drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), dipyridamole (Persantine), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

Here's the thing to keep in mind: Cablivi (caplacizumab) is an injectable antibody that already lowers your blood's ability to clot. That's how it works in aTTP. Fo-ti's concern here isn't about changing how Cablivi is processed. Instead, processed Fo-ti has been tied to rare cases of serious liver injury, and a damaged liver makes fewer clotting factors. Stack a weaker clotting system on top of a drug that's already designed to reduce clotting, and you could tip toward easier bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or harder-to-stop bleeding.

To be fair, this is based on scattered case reports (one involved warfarin, not Cablivi), so the evidence is thin and theoretical for your drug. Still, since you're being treated for a serious bleeding-and-clotting disorder, please loop in your doctor or pharmacist before using Fo-ti.

What Is Caplacizumab-yhdp Injection Used For?

  • Caplacizumab-yhdp injection is used to treat acquired thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (aTTP; a disorder in which the body attacks itself and causes clots, low amounts of platelets and red blood cells, and could cause other serious complications) in combination with plasma exchange therapy and immunosuppressant medications. Caplacizumab-yhdp is in a class of medications called antithrombotic agents. It works by blocking the action of a certain substance in the body that causes the symptoms of aTTP.
