Gestodene is the progestin in your birth control pill Minesse, and it works alongside a small dose of estrogen to prevent pregnancy. The concern here is mostly theoretical. In lab studies (not in people), Fo-ti showed some weak estrogen-like activity. The worry is that large, concentrated Fo-ti doses could compete at estrogen receptors and, in theory, nudge how well your pill keeps your hormones balanced.

To be clear, there is no solid human evidence that Fo-ti makes your pill fail, so I wouldn't panic. Still, because reliable contraception matters and Fo-ti has also been linked to liver issues, I'd run it past your pharmacist or doctor before starting it. They can help you weigh it and watch for breakthrough bleeding.
