Gestodene is the progestin in your Minesse birth control pill, and it works alongside a small dose of estrogen to prevent pregnancy. The concern here is that saw palmetto may have mild anti-estrogen activity. In theory, that could slightly counter the hormones in your pill and make it a little less reliable at stopping ovulation.

I want to be honest with you: this worry comes mostly from lab thinking, not strong human studies, so the real-world risk is probably small. Still, since an unplanned pregnancy is a big deal, it is worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two. They may simply suggest using a backup method, like condoms, to stay safe.
