Here's the simple version: aspirin already thins your blood a bit by keeping platelets from sticking together, which is exactly why so many people take a low dose. Saw palmetto has been reported to make bleeding take a little longer too. Put them together and, at least in theory, you could bleed a touch more easily, think easier bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding from a cut that's slower to stop.

I want to be honest about the evidence here. This is based on scattered case reports, not strong studies, so for most people it stays pretty minor. Still, if you notice unusual bruising, dark stools, or bleeding that won't quit, or if you're heading into surgery or a dental procedure, give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up before mixing these two.
