Here's the thing about abciximab (ReoPro): it's a powerful IV antiplatelet medicine given in the hospital, usually during heart procedures like a stent placement. It already works hard to keep your platelets from clumping, which means bleeding is the main thing your care team watches for.

Saw palmetto has been reported, in a few anecdotal cases, to lengthen bleeding time on its own. So the worry is simply additive: stacking it on top of abciximab could theoretically nudge your bleeding risk a little higher (think easy bruising, oozing at IV or catheter sites, or nosebleeds). To be fair, this is weak evidence, not a proven problem. Still, because abciximab is used in a high-stakes setting, always tell your doctor and pharmacist about any saw palmetto before a procedure.
