Here's something worth knowing if you're inhaling iloprost (Ventavis) for pulmonary hypertension. Besides relaxing blood vessels in your lungs, iloprost also makes your platelets a little less sticky, so it gently nudges up your bleeding risk on its own. Saw palmetto has been reported to lengthen bleeding time too. Stacking the two together could, in theory, make you bruise more easily or bleed a bit longer than usual.

I want to be straight with you: this concern rests on anecdotal reports, not solid studies, so it's a possible issue rather than a proven one. Still, watch for things like easy bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding gums. Before adding saw palmetto, run it by your doctor or pharmacist so they can keep an eye on you.
