Tucatinib falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Fucus Vesiculosus interacts with.
In vitro research shows that fucoidan, a constituent of Fucus vesiculosus, inhibits CYP3A4. This interaction has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the short version about pairing bladderwrack (Fucus vesiculosus) with Tucatinib (Tukysa). Your body relies on an enzyme called CYP3A4 to break down tucatinib. A compound in bladderwrack, called fucoidan, has been shown in test-tube studies to slow that enzyme down. If that happened in a real person, tucatinib could build up a bit higher than expected, which in theory could mean more of its usual side effects, things like diarrhea, nausea, sore hands and feet, fatigue, or changes in liver blood tests.
The honest part: this is only lab data and has never actually been seen in humans, so the real-world risk looks low. Still, since tucatinib is a serious cancer drug, please run any seaweed or thyroid supplement past your oncologist or pharmacist first.

Here's the gist with bladderwrack and your Tucatinib (Tukysa). One compound in this seaweed, called fucoidan, has been shown in lab dish studies to slow down an enzyme (CYP2C8) that helps your body process Tucatinib. If that enzyme is held back, Tucatinib could in theory build up a bit and bring on more of its usual side effects, things like diarrhea, nausea, tiredness, sore hands and feet, or changes in liver tests.
I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is. It comes only from test tube research and has never been seen in real patients, so the practical risk looks low. Still, because Tucatinib is serious cancer therapy, please run any bladderwrack or seaweed supplement past your oncologist or pharmacist before starting it.

What Is Tucatinib Used For?
Brand name: Tukysa
Tukysa (tucatinib) tablets are used in combination with trastuzumab and capecitabine to treat adults with advanced, unresectable, or metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer — including those whose cancer has spread to the brain — who have already received at least one HER2-targeted treatment.
Tukysa tablets are also used in combination with trastuzumab alone to treat adults with RAS wild-type, HER2-positive unresectable or metastatic colorectal cancer that has continued to grow after prior chemotherapy. This colorectal cancer use has received accelerated approval, meaning final approval depends on further study results confirming the benefit.
