Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Nebivolol
Nebivolol falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Garlic interacts with.
In human research, both garlic and garlic extracts have blood pressure-lowering effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: nebivolol (Bystolic) already lowers your blood pressure, and garlic may nudge it down a little too. Stack the two and your numbers could dip lower than expected. This isn't about garlic changing how your body breaks the drug down. It's just two things pushing in the same direction, so the effect can add up.
If your pressure drops too far, you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, tired, or a bit faint, especially when you stand up quickly. I'd point out that this is theoretical, based on how each one works, and the garlic effect is usually small. Eating garlic in food is very unlikely to matter; concentrated supplements are the bigger question. Before starting a garlic supplement, check with your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on your readings.

About Garlic
What is Garlic?
- High blood pressure
- High cholesterol
- Heart health
- Immune support and common cold
- Antimicrobial uses
Garlic is a common food and supplement that may modestly help with blood pressure and cholesterol, though the evidence is mixed and effects are usually small. It is generally safe in food amounts, but concentrated supplements can cause stomach upset, breath and body odor, and a higher risk of bleeding. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before taking garlic supplements, especially if you take other medicines.
About Nebivolol
What Is Nebivolol Used For?
Brand names: Bystolic, Nebilet
Nebivolol tablets are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of serious cardiovascular events, especially stroke and heart attack. It can be used alone or combined with other blood pressure medications.
Managing blood pressure is most effective as part of a broader plan that may include diet changes, exercise, and other treatments your doctor recommends.

Nebivolol Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Nebivolol as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Garlic — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
