Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Glossy Privet and Omadacycline (IV)
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Omadacycline (IV) and Glossy Privet in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Omadacycline (IV)
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Omadacycline (IV) is filed under a single classification — tetracycline antibiotics. Glossy Privet has documented interactions with 1 drug class — the most serious being lithium (moderate) — and none of Omadacycline (IV)’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Omadacycline (IV) page
“Omadacycline (Nuzyra) is a tetracycline antibiotic given by IV drip for serious pneumonia and skin infections, and its interaction list earns real vigilance. The entry to understand first is oleander, the only one of the 24 rated major: tetracyclines can shift the gut bacteria that normally break down its heart-toxic compounds, letting…”

About Glossy Privet
What is Glossy Privet?
- Liver and kidney support in traditional medicine
- Immune support
- Anti-aging and general tonic
- Blurred vision and dizziness
- Premature graying of hair
Glossy Privet (Ligustrum lucidum) is a fruit long used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, often combined with other herbs as a liver and kidney 'tonic.' Most of the research is from laboratory and animal studies, so its benefits in people are not well proven. Because human safety data are limited, talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it, and avoid it during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Ligustrum lucidum · Oleaceae · Ripe fruit (berries) · Dried fruit, decoctions (teas), powders, capsules, tinctures, and herbal formulas
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Glossy Privet is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Glossy Privet record says about it on its own.
Glossy Privet: dosing
There is no well-established, standardized dose of Glossy Privet for any condition. Traditional use is usually as part of a multi-herb decoction or formula prepared by a practitioner, rather than as a single supplement.Because products vary widely in strength and quality, the safest approach is to follow the directions on the product label and not exceed the recommended amount.

About Omadacycline Injection
What Is Omadacycline Injection Used For?
Brand name: Nuzyra
Nuzyra (omadacycline) injection is used in adults to treat two types of serious bacterial infections: community-acquired bacterial pneumonia (CABP) — a lung infection picked up outside of a hospital — and acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections (ABSSSI), which include serious skin infections such as those caused by MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus).
Nuzyra works only against bacterial infections. It is not effective against viral illnesses like the flu or common cold. Your doctor will prescribe it only when a bacterial infection is confirmed or strongly suspected, to help prevent the growth of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
