But Denileukin (Ontak) isn't a pill, it's given as an infusion straight into your vein at the clinic. Because it bypasses your stomach and intestines entirely, that gel-forming fiber never gets a chance to interfere with how much of the drug reaches your bloodstream.

So for this specific pairing, the absorption issue really doesn't apply. That said, if you take any other oral medicines, separating them from guar gum by 30 to 60 minutes is smart. Always run new supplements by your oncology team while you're on cancer treatment.

What Is Denileukin Diftitox Injection Used For?

Brand name: Ontak

LYMPHIR is approved for adults with cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) — a cancer that starts in certain white blood cells and mainly affects the skin — specifically Stage I through III disease that has relapsed (come back) or is refractory (no longer responding) after at least one prior systemic (whole-body) treatment.

It is not a first-line therapy. It's used when earlier treatments have already been tried and the cancer has continued to progress.
