Here's the practical angle for Diatrizoate Sodium (Hypaque). This is a contrast dye used to help your insides show up on X-rays or CT scans, and when taken by mouth it sometimes outlines the stomach and bowel. Guar gum is a thick, gel-forming fiber that can grab onto things in your gut and slow or reduce how much of an oral medicine gets absorbed.

If you took oral diatrizoate and guar gum close together, the gel could theoretically muddy or weaken the contrast picture, so your scan might not be as clear. The good news is timing fixes most of this. Space your guar gum well away from any oral dose, and always tell the imaging team and your pharmacist what supplements you take so they can guide the timing.
