Here's the simple version: guar gum is a thick, gel-forming fiber, and when you swallow it close to your Halazepam (a benzodiazepine used for anxiety), that gel can grab onto the medicine in your gut and slow down how much of it actually gets absorbed. Halazepam works as-is (it isn't a prodrug that needs activating), so less getting absorbed could mean a weaker effect, and your anxiety might not feel as well controlled.

This comes from real but limited human studies on other oral drugs like metformin and penicillin, not Halazepam itself, so think of it as plausible rather than proven. An easy fix is timing: take your Halazepam first, then wait about 30 to 60 minutes before the guar gum. Run this by your pharmacist or doctor to be sure.
