Here's the thing about taking guar gum with oxyphencyclimine (Daricon), an older medicine used to calm stomach cramps and reduce acid for ulcers. Guar gum is a thick, gel-forming fiber. As it swells up in your stomach and gut, it can trap part of a swallowed pill and slow or lower how much of it actually gets absorbed into your body.

For oxyphencyclimine, that could mean you get less relief than expected, so your belly cramping or discomfort might not settle the way it should. This isn't a dangerous reaction, just a possible weaker effect. An easy fix is spacing them out: take your medication first, then wait 30 to 60 minutes before the guar gum. Food amounts of fiber are unlikely to cause trouble, but please run your routine by your pharmacist or doctor.
