Theoretically, gum arabic can alter the absorption of oral drugs due to its fiber content.
Gum arabic has been used as a suspending osmotic agent in drug formulations. It might improve bioavailability of water-insoluble drugs like naproxen, but reduce absorption of polar drugs like amoxicillin. To avoid changes in absorption, take gum arabic 30-60 minutes after oral medications.

Here's the gist with Lenvatinib (Lenvima) and gum arabic. Gum arabic is mostly soluble fiber, and fiber can grab onto pills in your gut and slightly change how much of the drug your body soaks up. This concern is mostly theoretical for lenvatinib, so I don't want you to panic. Lenvatinib is an active drug (not a prodrug), so if its absorption dipped, the worry would be slightly less drug working against your cancer.

Lenvatinib is a serious medicine where steady levels matter, so simple timing helps a lot. A common tip is to space the fiber out, taking gum arabic 30 to 60 minutes after your lenvatinib dose. Please run this by your oncology team or pharmacist before adding it.

Early studies suggest possible benefits for gut bacteria, cholesterol, and blood sugar, but the evidence is limited, and high doses can cause gas and bloating. About Lenvatinib

What Is Lenvatinib Used For?

Brand name: Lenvima

Lenvima (lenvatinib) is used to treat four types of cancer in adults. It treats locally recurrent or metastatic differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) that no longer responds to radioactive iodine therapy. It is also approved for the first-line treatment of unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer).

For advanced renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer), Lenvima is used in combination with pembrolizumab as a first-line treatment, or in combination with everolimus after one prior therapy. For advanced endometrial carcinoma (uterine cancer) with specific tumor markers (pMMR or not MSI-H), Lenvima is used in combination with pembrolizumab in patients whose disease has progressed after prior treatment and who are not candidates for surgery or radiation.
