SEROTONERGIC DRUGS
Why this applies to Zolmitriptan
Zolmitriptan falls under SEROTONERGIC DRUGS — the group Hawaiian Baby Woodrose interacts with.
Hawaiian baby woodrose contains chemicals which might increase serotonin levels. Combining serotonergic drugs with Hawaiian baby woodrose might increase the risk of serotonergic side effects including serotonin syndrome and cerebral vasoconstrictive disorders.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the concern with pairing these two. Zolmitriptan (Zomig) already nudges up serotonin activity to stop a migraine, and it also tightens blood vessels around the brain. Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seeds contain LSD-like compounds that act on those same serotonin receptors. Stacking two serotonin-boosting things together can, in theory, push serotonin too high and bring on what we call serotonin syndrome (think agitation, fast heartbeat, sweating, shivering, muscle twitching, or confusion). There's also a worry about blood vessels clamping down too much.
To be fair, this warning is theoretical, based on how these substances work rather than real-world case reports. Still, given the unpredictable and risky nature of these seeds, I'd steer clear of combining them and check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Zolmitriptan page
“Zolmitriptan (Zomig) treats migraines by working on serotonin and tightening blood vessels, and that mechanism is exactly why this list deserves real vigilance. Twenty of the 50 supplements on file, including everyday items like 5-HTP and black cohosh, also raise serotonin, and stacking them on a triptan can push someone toward seroton…”
