Iloprost falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Hesperidin interacts with.

Theoretically, taking hesperidin with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Some clinical and animal research shows that hesperidin can decrease blood pressure. However, other clinical research shows that hesperidin does not affect blood pressure.

Here's the simple version: iloprost (Ventavis) already works by relaxing and widening your blood vessels to ease the pressure in your lungs. Hesperidin, the citrus flavonoid often used for vein and circulation support, might nudge blood pressure down a little on its own. Put the two together and, in theory, you could see a bit more of a drop than expected.

If that happened, you might feel things like lightheadedness, dizziness, flushing, or feeling faint when you stand up. I want to be honest, though: this is a theoretical concern, the research on hesperidin and blood pressure is mixed, and many people won't notice anything. Iloprost is not a prodrug, so this isn't about how it's broken down, just a small overlapping effect. Still, check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding a hesperidin supplement.

Here's the thing to know about iloprost (Ventavis): besides relaxing the blood vessels in your lungs, it also has a mild effect on platelets, the cells that help your blood clot. That means it can gently nudge your bleeding risk up on its own. Hesperidin, based mostly on lab and animal work, may have a similar light antiplatelet effect.

So in theory, taking them together could add up and make bruising or bleeding (like nosebleeds or bleeding gums) a little more likely. I want to stress this is theoretical, not proven in people, and food amounts of citrus are very unlikely to matter. Still, if you take concentrated hesperidin supplements, mention it to your doctor or pharmacist so they can keep an eye on things.

Aurlumyn (iloprost injection) is FDA-approved to treat severe frostbite in adults. Specifically, it is used to reduce the risk of losing fingers or toes (digit amputation) after serious frostbite injury.
