Simvastatin, Sitagliptin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Hollyhock interacts with.

Animal and in vitro research shows that hollyhock flower extracts might lower blood glucose levels. While the effect of hollyhock in patients with diabetes has not been studied, theoretically, hollyhock might decrease blood glucose and have additive effects in patients treated with antidiabetes drugs. Dose adjustments to diabetes medications may be necessarily. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, metformin (Glucophage), pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.

Juvisync is a combo pill: simvastatin (a statin for cholesterol) plus sitagliptin (which lowers blood sugar). The piece that matters here is the sitagliptin side. In lab and animal studies, hollyhock flower extract appeared to nudge blood sugar down a little. If that holds true in people, adding it on top of a sugar-lowering drug could in theory push your levels lower than expected, leading to low blood sugar: shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling foggy.

I want to be honest that this is only a theoretical concern. It hasn't been tested in people with diabetes, and casual amounts likely matter far less than concentrated supplements. The statin part isn't really involved. Before starting hollyhock, check in with your pharmacist or doctor and keep an eye on your sugar readings.
