Oxybutynin falls under ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS — the group Jimson Weed interacts with.

Theoretically, jimson weed may increase anticholinergic effects and adverse effects.
Jimson weed contains alkaloids with anticholinergic effects, such as atropine and scopolamine. Use with other anticholinergic drugs may cause additive effects.

Here's the key thing to know: oxybutynin already works by blocking acetylcholine to calm an overactive bladder. Jimson Weed contains the very same kind of acetylcholine-blocking compounds (atropine and scopolamine). So putting the two together is like doubling up on the same action, and the side effects can stack on top of each other.

That means you could see a stronger version of the typical oxybutynin nuisances: very dry mouth, blurry vision, constipation, trouble emptying your bladder, a racing heart, confusion, and overheating because you can't sweat. Honestly, the bigger issue is that Jimson Weed is genuinely poisonous and isn't safe to take at all. This interaction is based on how the chemicals work (theoretical), but please don't use Jimson Weed, and check with your pharmacist or doctor with any questions.

About Oxybutynin

What Is Oxybutynin Used For?

Brand names: Ditropan, Ditropan XL, Oxybutynin, Oxytrol, Anturol, Gelnique

Oxybutynin treats overactive bladder — including the sudden urge to urinate, leaking before you can reach the bathroom (urge incontinence), and going too frequently. Extended-release tablets (Oxybutynin Chloride) and immediate-release tablets and oral solution (Oxybutynin Chloride) are used for these symptoms. Oxytrol is approved for overactive bladder in men; Oxytrol for Women is approved for overactive bladder in women aged 18 and older.

Extended-release tablets (Oxybutynin Chloride) are also approved for children 6 years and older who have bladder overactivity caused by a neurological condition, such as spina bifida. Immediate-release tablets and oral solution (Oxybutynin Chloride) are indicated for bladder instability symptoms — including urgency, frequency, urinary leakage, and painful urination — in patients with neurogenic bladder conditions.
