Theoretically, jimson weed may increase anticholinergic effects and adverse effects.
Jimson weed contains alkaloids with anticholinergic effects, such as atropine and scopolamine. Use with other anticholinergic drugs may cause additive effects.

Here's the simple version. Trospium calms an overactive bladder by blocking acetylcholine, the same nerve signal that tells the bladder to squeeze. That's called an anticholinergic effect. Jimson Weed is loaded with its own anticholinergic chemicals (atropine and scopolamine), so putting the two together is like pressing on the same pedal twice. The blocking effects can stack up.

What that could look like with Trospium is more of its usual side effects, just stronger: very dry mouth, blurry vision, constipation, trouble urinating, a fast heartbeat, and confusion. This concern is theoretical, based on how these chemicals behave, not on patient studies. But honestly, Jimson Weed is genuinely poisonous and shouldn't be used at all. Please talk with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing anything with Trospium.

What Is Trospium Used For?

Brand names: Sanctura, Trosec, Regurin

Trospium — available as tablets and extended-release capsules — is used to treat overactive bladder (OAB). It targets three main symptoms: the sudden, hard-to-control urge to urinate (urgency), leaking urine when that urge hits (urge urinary incontinence), and needing to urinate much more often than usual (urinary frequency).

Both Trospium Chloride Tablets and Trospium Chloride Extended-Release Capsules carry this indication. Your prescriber will choose the formulation that fits your schedule and health history.
