Trospium falls under ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS — the group Bacopa interacts with.

Theoretically, concurrent use might decrease the effectiveness of both agents.
Bacopa seems to inhibit acetylcholinesterase and might increase acetylcholine levels, which could counteract the effects of anticholinergic drugs. Similarly, anticholinergic drugs might counteract the cholinergic effects of bacopa.

Here's the gist with Trospium and bacopa. Trospium calms an overactive bladder by blocking a nerve signal called acetylcholine, which is what eases that urgent, frequent need to go. Bacopa may push in the opposite direction by raising acetylcholine levels in the body. So in theory, taking them together could make Trospium work a little less well, meaning your bladder symptoms might creep back.

The good news: this is a theoretical concern based on how each one behaves in the lab, not something proven in people. Trospium is not a prodrug, so the direction here is simply reduced benefit, not added side effects. If you notice your bladder control slipping after starting bacopa, give your pharmacist or doctor a quick call before changing anything.

Bacopa is an Ayurvedic herb most often used for memory and thinking. Some small studies suggest it may modestly help memory when taken regularly for several weeks, but the evidence is limited and quality varies. Trospium — available as tablets and extended-release capsules — is used to treat overactive bladder (OAB). It targets three main symptoms: the sudden, hard-to-control urge to urinate (urgency), leaking urine when that urge hits (urge urinary incontinence), and needing to urinate much more often than usual (urinary frequency).
