Juice Fasting + Liraglutide Recombinant
Liraglutide Recombinant brand name: Saxenda.
We found no known interaction between Juice Fasting and Liraglutide Recombinant in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Juice Fasting and Liraglutide Recombinant
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Liraglutide Recombinant and Juice Fasting in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Juice Fasting alongside specific medications may be limited.
Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Juice Fasting at all — not against Liraglutide Recombinant, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.
Juice Fasting is an eating pattern rather than something you take. Ask your pharmacist or doctor before changing how you eat while on a prescribed medicine: some medicines are dosed around meals, and a change in diet can change how they work. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Juice Fasting in Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
During pregnancy and lactation. Juice fasting is not intended to provide adequate nutrition and can result in electrolyte imbalances when used short-term, as well as malnutrition when used long-term.

What Liraglutide Recombinant Is Prescribed For, and What Juice Fasting Has Been Studied For
These two come up together because they touch the same health topic — not because they do the same job. Liraglutide Recombinant is a prescription medicine with approved uses on its FDA label. Juice Fasting is an eating pattern: what follows is what researchers have looked at it for, and how strong that evidence is.
Liraglutide Recombinant is prescribed for: Saxenda is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity for chronic weight management. It is approved for adults with a BMI of 30 or higher, or a BMI of 27 or higher if they also have at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or dyslipidemia (abnormal cholesterol or fat levels). It is also approved for adolescents aged 12 and older who weigh more than 60 kg and meet certain BMI thresholds for obesity. Saxenda should not be used together with other liraglutide-containing products or any other GLP-1 receptor agonist.

Juice Fasting for obesity
Although juice fasting is often promoted for weight loss, it has not been evaluated specifically for obesity. However, it has been evaluated for weight loss in healthy, non-obese adults. Preliminary clinical research in healthy adults under the age of 30 shows that following a lemon honey juice fast for 4 days reduces weight, body mass index (BMI), fat mass, and muscle mass when compared with baseline.

Effectiveness ratings and the research summaries above are the verbatim record from the Natural Medicines database, which grades evidence from “Effective” down to “Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate”. A rating below the top of that scale means researchers have looked at it — not that it works, and never that it can stand in for a prescribed medicine. Do not stop or replace Liraglutide Recombinant on your own; if you are taking Juice Fasting for the same health topic, tell your prescriber, especially if the medicine is being adjusted to a target.
See Every Supplement That Interacts With Liraglutide Recombinant
This page covers Juice Fasting only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Liraglutide Recombinant page lists 239 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Siberian Cocklebur (major), Acai (moderate), African Wild Potato (moderate), Agaricus Mushroom (moderate) and Agmatine (moderate).
By severity: 1 major · 208 moderate · 30 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Liraglutide Recombinant page
“If you take liraglutide (Saxenda), handle this page with real care, because all 239 ingredients on it act on the same thing the drug does, your blood sugar. The one major entry, Siberian cocklebur, has caused severe hypoglycemia, dangerously low blood sugar, in people and should never be combined with a glucose-lowering medicine.”

About Juice Fasting
What is Juice Fasting?
- Weight loss
- Detoxification or 'cleansing'
- Boosting fruit and vegetable intake
- Improving energy or well-being
- Resetting eating habits
Juice fasting means consuming only fruit and vegetable juices for a set period, often marketed for 'detox' or quick weight loss. There is little solid evidence that it cleanses the body or offers lasting health benefits, and your liver and kidneys already remove toxins on their own. Short juice fasts are low-risk for healthy adults, but they can be unsafe for some people, so check with a pharmacist or doctor first.
Fruit and vegetable juices · Fresh-pressed (cold-pressed) juices, store-bought juice blends, commercial juice-cleanse programs
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Juice Fasting is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Juice Fasting record says about it on its own.
Juice Fasting: dosing
There is no standardized or medically established way to do a juice fast. Programs vary widely in how many juices are consumed per day and how long the fast lasts. If you choose to try a short juice fast, keeping it brief (about one to three days), staying well hydrated with water, and easing back into solid food gradually are common-sense steps.

Liraglutide Recombinant Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Liraglutide Recombinant as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Juice Fasting — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
