Juice Fasting + Pramlintide
Pramlintide brand name: Symlin.
We found no known interaction between Juice Fasting and Pramlintide in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Juice Fasting and Pramlintide
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Pramlintide and Juice Fasting in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Juice Fasting alongside specific medications may be limited.
Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Juice Fasting at all — not against Pramlintide, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.
Juice Fasting is an eating pattern rather than something you take. Ask your pharmacist or doctor before changing how you eat while on a prescribed medicine: some medicines are dosed around meals, and a change in diet can change how they work. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Juice Fasting in Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
During pregnancy and lactation. Juice fasting is not intended to provide adequate nutrition and can result in electrolyte imbalances when used short-term, as well as malnutrition when used long-term.

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Pramlintide
This page covers Juice Fasting only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Pramlintide page lists 239 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Siberian Cocklebur (major), Acai (moderate), African Wild Potato (moderate), Agaricus Mushroom (moderate) and Agmatine (moderate).
By severity: 1 major · 208 moderate · 30 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Pramlintide page
“The single entry rated major on the pramlintide (Symlin) list is Siberian cocklebur, which has caused severe hypoglycemia in humans, not just in lab studies. That matters more than usual here because pramlintide is injected at mealtimes alongside insulin, and a dangerous low is already the main hazard of that pairing.”

Where Juice Fasting and Pramlintide Sit Against Everything Else
Out of every supplement and medication people look up on HelloPharmacist, here is where these two land this week — and which way each has been moving.
#1,212 of 1,452 supplements looked up here in the last 7 days
#2,193 of 2,830 medications looked up here in the last 7 days
Position among everything looked up on this site, not a measure of how commonly either one is used or how important it is. A supplement can climb this list because of a news story. It counts every request to the page, automated ones included, and nothing here identifies anyone.
Where does our data come from?
- Source: the Natural Medicines (TRC Healthcare) clinical database — the evidence-graded professional reference for herb & supplement interactions.
- Citation library: 103,510 references behind our interaction content, 65,311 of them resolved to verified PubMed/DOI sources. See every Juice Fasting reference on this page ↓
- Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified September 20, 2026. The Juice Fasting and Pramlintide records this page draws on were last updated July 10, 2026.
- What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.
About Juice Fasting
What is Juice Fasting?
- Weight loss
- Detoxification or 'cleansing'
- Boosting fruit and vegetable intake
- Improving energy or well-being
- Resetting eating habits
Juice fasting means consuming only fruit and vegetable juices for a set period, often marketed for 'detox' or quick weight loss. There is little solid evidence that it cleanses the body or offers lasting health benefits, and your liver and kidneys already remove toxins on their own. Short juice fasts are low-risk for healthy adults, but they can be unsafe for some people, so check with a pharmacist or doctor first.
Fruit and vegetable juices · Fresh-pressed (cold-pressed) juices, store-bought juice blends, commercial juice-cleanse programs
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Juice Fasting is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Juice Fasting record says about it on its own.
Juice Fasting: dosing
There is no standardized or medically established way to do a juice fast. Programs vary widely in how many juices are consumed per day and how long the fast lasts. If you choose to try a short juice fast, keeping it brief (about one to three days), staying well hydrated with water, and easing back into solid food gradually are common-sense steps.

About Pramlintide Injection
What Is Pramlintide Injection Used For?
Brand name: Symlin
SymlinPen (pramlintide) is used as an add-on treatment for adults with type 1 or type 2 diabetes who already use mealtime insulin but still haven't reached their target blood sugar levels — even with optimal insulin therapy.
It is not a replacement for insulin. It works alongside insulin, given right before major meals, to reduce the spike in blood sugar that happens after eating.

Pramlintide Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Pramlintide as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Juice Fasting — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
