Here's the simple version: piperazine citrate is an oral deworming medicine that needs to be absorbed from your gut to do its job. Karaya gum is a bulk-forming fiber that swells into a gel when it hits water. That gel can trap some of the piperazine and slow or lessen how much your body takes in, which could mean a weaker effect against the worms it's meant to treat.

To be honest, this concern is theoretical, based on how fiber laxatives behave in general rather than solid studies with this exact drug. It's also rated minor. A simple fix is good spacing: take your piperazine first, then wait about 30 to 60 minutes before the karaya gum. If you're unsure, your pharmacist can confirm the timing for you.
