Lycopene + Cilostazol
Cilostazol brand name: Pletal.
Lycopene has a moderate interaction with Cilostazol. Theoretically, taking lycopene with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs might increase the risk of bleeding.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Cilostazol
Cilostazol falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Lycopene interacts with.
In vitro research shows that lycopene has antiplatelet effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the basic idea with cilostazol (Pletal) and lycopene. Cilostazol already works to keep your platelets from clumping together, which is how it improves blood flow in your legs. In lab dish studies, lycopene has shown a mild platelet-slowing effect of its own. So in theory, stacking the two could nudge your bleeding risk up a little, meaning easier bruising, longer-lasting nosebleeds, or bleeding gums.
I want to be honest about the strength of this: it's theoretical, based on test-tube work, not real patients. The tomatoes on your sandwich are very unlikely to cause any trouble. Concentrated high-dose lycopene supplements are where I'd pause and check first. Before starting one, run it by your pharmacist or doctor so they can look at your full picture.

About Lycopene
What is Lycopene?
- Heart health
- Prostate health
- Antioxidant support
- Sun/skin protection
- General wellness
Lycopene is a red plant pigment and antioxidant found mainly in tomatoes and other red fruits. Eating lycopene-rich foods is linked with possible heart and prostate benefits, but evidence from supplements is mixed and far from conclusive. For most people, getting lycopene from food is a safe and reasonable choice; talk to your pharmacist before taking high-dose supplements.
