Maggot therapy (also called maggot debridement therapy or larval therapy) is a medical treatment in which sterile, medical-grade fly larvae are placed on a wound to remove dead tissue and help cleaning. It is a prescription, clinician-applied therapy — not a dietary supplement or herb — and should only be done under professional supervision. It can be useful for certain hard-to-heal wounds, but it is not a do-it-yourself treatment.

Maggot Therapy: dosing

There is no 'dose' in the way there is for a supplement. Tobramycin Injection is used to treat serious and life-threatening bacterial infections caused by susceptible bacteria. It is approved for adults and children for infections of the blood (septicemia), lungs and airways, brain and spinal cord (meningitis), abdomen, skin, bones, and urinary tract.

Because antibiotic resistance is a growing concern, Tobramycin Injection should only be used when there is a proven or strongly suspected bacterial infection. Your care team will use culture and lab results to confirm it is the right choice.
