Animal research suggests that high doses of Manchurian thorn can induce liver damage. Theoretically, concomitant use with other potentially hepatotoxic drugs might increase the risk of developing liver damage.

Here's the concern with pairing Manchurian Thorn and Nirogacestat (Ogsiveo). This isn't about one changing how the other is broken down. Instead, it's about both potentially stressing the same organ: your liver. Nirogacestat can raise liver enzymes on its own, which is why your care team already checks bloodwork during treatment. Manchurian Thorn, at high doses in animal studies, has shown signs of liver injury too. Stacking two things that lean on the liver could, in theory, add up.

I want to be honest that this is theoretical, based on pharmacology and animal data rather than real cases in people. Still, since Nirogacestat already requires liver monitoring, I'd loop in your oncology team or pharmacist before adding this supplement. Watch for fatigue, yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, or belly pain.

Ogsiveo (nirogacestat) is approved for adults with desmoid tumors that are actively progressing and require systemic treatment. Desmoid tumors are rare, locally aggressive tumors that can grow in soft tissue.

This indication applies to the oral tablet form of Ogsiveo. It is not approved for children, as safety and effectiveness have not been established in pediatric patients.
