Infliximab-axxq falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Maritime Pine interacts with.

In vitro and animal research suggests that maritime pine bark extract has immunostimulant activity. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Avsola (infliximab-axxq) is a biologic that works by calming down an overactive immune system. It's commonly used for conditions like Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, rheumatoid arthritis, and psoriasis. The whole point of the medicine is to quiet certain immune signals so inflammation settles down.

Here's the concern with maritime pine bark (Pycnogenol): in lab dishes and animal studies, it has shown signs of stimulating the immune system. That's the opposite direction of what Avsola is trying to do, so in theory it could work against your medicine and let symptoms like joint pain, gut flare-ups, or skin trouble creep back. I want to be honest though, this has only been seen in lab and animal research, not in people, so it's more a caution than a proven problem. Before adding this supplement, just run it by your doctor or pharmacist who manages your Avsola.
