ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Glipizide, Metformin
Glipizide, Metformin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Miracle Fruit interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to know about pairing miracle fruit with Metaglip (which combines glipizide and metformin). Both of these medicines already work to lower your blood sugar, glipizide by nudging your pancreas to release more insulin, and metformin by reducing how much sugar your liver makes. The concern is that miracle fruit leaf might add a little extra blood-sugar-lowering on top, which could in theory push you too low (hypoglycemia). That can show up as shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling confused.
I want to be straight with you though: this is based only on a rat study, not people, so the evidence is weak and theoretical. The tablets you eat as a fun taste trick are very unlikely to matter. Still, if you're using concentrated leaf products, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor and keep an eye on your readings.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Glipizide, Metformin page
“Glipizide and metformin (Metaglip) already work hard to pull blood sugar down, which is exactly why this list of 307 ingredients deserves genuine vigilance rather than a shrug. Most of them, 239, can lower glucose on their own, and stacked on this pill the combined effect can tip into true hypoglycemia.”
