Capmatinib Hydrochloride falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Oregon Grape interacts with.

Theoretically, Oregon grape might increase serum levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In vitro research and preliminary clinical evidence suggest that berberine, a constituent of Oregon grape, moderately inhibits cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4).

Here's the gist with Tabrecta (capmatinib) and Oregon grape. Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear capmatinib from your body. Oregon grape contains berberine, which lab and early human studies suggest can mildly slow that same enzyme. If it does, capmatinib could build up a bit higher than expected, which may mean more side effects like nausea, swelling, tiredness, trouble breathing, or changes in your liver test results.

I want to be honest that this is a theoretical concern based on how things work in the test tube, not something proven in people taking this exact combo. Still, since capmatinib is a serious cancer medicine, please check with your oncologist or pharmacist before adding any Oregon grape or berberine product.

Tabrecta (capmatinib) is used to treat adults with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) — lung cancer that has spread to other parts of the body. It is only for patients whose tumors have a specific genetic change called a MET exon 14 skipping mutation, which must be confirmed by an FDA-approved test before starting treatment.
