The bottom line No known interaction

We found no known interaction between Organic Food and Digoxin in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Organic Food and Digoxin

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Digoxin and Organic Food in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Organic Food at all — not against Digoxin, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

What Digoxin’s Own FDA Label Lists

This is not an interaction — none of it involves Organic Food. These are the most notable effects listed in the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of Digoxin’s own FDA label, for the medication by itself. Knowing the drug’s own list makes it easier to work out the likely cause if something new turns up while you take both. 7 of them are worth acting on rather than waiting out — marked below.

  • A slow heartbeat Worth acting on
  • Hallucinations Worth acting on
  • Heart failure Worth acting on
  • An irregular heartbeat Worth acting on
  • Confusion Worth acting on
  • Low mood Worth acting on
  • A low platelet count Worth acting on

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Digoxin. Read the label on DailyMed › Organic Food’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Organic Food side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Organic Food has no side effects.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Digoxin page

“Digoxin is a heart medicine with a narrow therapeutic index, meaning the gap between a helpful blood level and a harmful one is small, and few drugs give me more pause when supplements enter the picture. The most serious entries here are herbs that themselves contain digoxin-like cardiac glycosides, foxglove and lily-of-the-valley amon…”

About Organic Food

What is Organic Food?

  • Reducing pesticide exposure
  • General health and wellness
  • Avoiding synthetic additives
  • Environmental and ethical reasons
  • Cleaner eating during pregnancy

Organic food is grown and processed without most synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, antibiotics, or genetic engineering. Choosing organic can lower your exposure to certain pesticide residues, but strong evidence that it is meaningfully more nutritious or that it prevents disease is limited. A varied diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains matters more for health than whether those foods are organic.

Whole foods (fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy, meat) grown or raised by organic methods · Fresh produce, packaged groceries, dairy, meat, and processed organic products

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Organic Food is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Organic Food record says about it on its own.

Organic Food: dosing

There is no "dose" for organic food. It is simply part of your normal diet. General healthy-eating guidance applies: aim for a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins, whether or not they are organic. If you want to prioritize organic purchases on a budget, many people focus on items they eat often or those known to carry more pesticide residue. A pharmacist or dietitian can help you make practical choices that fit your needs.

About Digoxin

What Is Digoxin Used For?

Brand names: Lanoxicaps, Lanoxin, Digitek

Digoxin treats mild to moderate heart failure in adults. It improves heart failure symptoms and exercise capacity, and it reduces heart failure-related hospitalizations and emergency care. It does not change survival.

It also helps control the resting heart rate in adults with chronic atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat). In children with heart failure, the tablet, oral solution and most injection products are used to increase the heart’s pumping strength (myocardial contractility). Some older injection labels list only the adult uses. Digoxin Oral Solution should not be used for multifocal atrial tachycardia.
