Panax Ginseng + Brentuximab Vedotin
Brentuximab Vedotin brand name: Adcetris.
Panax Ginseng has a moderate interaction with Brentuximab Vedotin. Theoretically, Panax ginseng might increase or decrease levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Brentuximab Vedotin
Brentuximab Vedotin falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Panax Ginseng interacts with.
Panax ginseng may affect the clearance of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4. One such drug is imatinib. Inhibition of CYP3A4 was believed to be responsible for a case of imatinib-induced hepatotoxicity. In contrast, Panax ginseng has been shown to increase the clearance of midazolam, another drug metabolized by CYP3A4. Clinical research shows that Panax ginseng can reduce midazolam area under the curve by 44%, maximum plasma concentration by 26%, and time to reach maximum plasma concentration by 29%. Midazolam metabolism was also increased in animals given Panax ginseng. Until more is known, use Panax ginseng cautiously in combination with CYP3A4 substrates.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the situation with Adcetris (brentuximab vedotin). The active part of this drug, called MMAE, is broken down by a liver enzyme known as CYP3A4. Panax ginseng can nudge that same enzyme, but the tricky part is it doesn't push in just one direction. In some studies ginseng has sped up CYP3A4 (which could lower MMAE levels), and in other cases it appeared to slow the enzyme down (which could let MMAE build up and cause more side effects like nerve tingling, low blood counts, fatigue, or nausea).
Honestly, this is mostly theoretical for your specific drug, and the evidence is mixed. But since brentuximab is serious chemotherapy, I'd play it safe. Please don't add ginseng without first checking with your oncologist or pharmacist.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Brentuximab Vedotin page
“Every entry on this page traces back to a single enzyme. Brentuximab vedotin (Adcetris), an IV treatment for Hodgkin lymphoma and certain other lymphomas, carries a chemotherapy payload the body clears through CYP3A4, and I would treat this list with real care.”

About Brentuximab Vedotin Injection
What Is Brentuximab Vedotin Injection Used For?
Brand name: Adcetris
Adcetris (brentuximab vedotin) is used to treat classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) in adults — including newly diagnosed advanced-stage disease, as consolidation therapy after a stem cell transplant, and in relapsed or refractory cases. It is also approved for pediatric patients aged 2 and older with previously untreated high-risk classical Hodgkin lymphoma, given in combination with chemotherapy.
Adcetris is also used for several T-cell lymphomas — including systemic anaplastic large cell lymphoma (sALCL), peripheral T-cell lymphomas (PTCL), primary cutaneous anaplastic large cell lymphoma (pcALCL), and CD30-expressing mycosis fungoides (MF). Additionally, Adcetris is used in combination with lenalidomide and a rituximab product for adults with relapsed or refractory large B-cell lymphoma (LBCL) who are not candidates for a stem cell transplant or CAR T-cell therapy.
