Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Thalidomide
Thalidomide falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Panax Ginseng interacts with.
Panax ginseng might have immune system stimulating properties.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to keep in mind with this pairing. Panax ginseng may gently rev up your immune system, while thalidomide works partly by calming or modulating immune activity, especially when it's treating the painful skin flares of ENL in leprosy. In theory, ginseng could push in the opposite direction and make thalidomide work a little less well, which might mean more breakthrough skin sores, fever, or nerve discomfort.
I want to be honest, though: this concern is theoretical and based on weak evidence, not strong human studies. Still, since thalidomide treats serious conditions, I'd loop in your pharmacist or oncologist before adding ginseng rather than starting it on your own.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Thalidomide page
“Thalidomide (Thalomid) works in part by quieting the immune system, which is exactly why most of the supplements on this page concern me. The large majority are herbs and extracts marketed as immune boosters, astragalus being one familiar example, and their theoretical effect is to push back against what thalidomide is trying to accomp…”

About Thalidomide
What Is Thalidomide Used For?
Brand name: Thalomid
Thalidomide is used for two conditions. The first is newly diagnosed multiple myeloma, a cancer of the bone marrow, where it is given together with dexamethasone.
The second is erythema nodosum leprosum (ENL), a painful inflammatory skin reaction linked to leprosy. It is used for short-term treatment of moderate to severe skin symptoms. It is also used long term to help prevent those skin symptoms from coming back. It is not meant to be used alone for ENL when moderate to severe nerve inflammation (neuritis) is present.
