Theoretically, concomitant use of potassium-depleting diuretics and pleurisy root can increase the risk of cardiac glycoside toxicity due to potassium depletion. Some diuretics that can deplete potassium include chlorothiazide (Diuril), chlorthalidone (Thalitone), furosemide (Lasix), hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ, Hydrodiuril, Microzide), and others.

Your Corzide combines two medicines: bendroflumethiazide (a water pill, or thiazide diuretic) and nadolol (a beta-blocker). The piece that matters here is the bendroflumethiazide. Like other thiazide diuretics, it can lower your body's potassium level over time. Pleurisy root naturally contains heart-acting compounds called cardiac glycosides, and these become more dangerous when potassium runs low.

So the concern isn't that one cancels the other out. It's that the low potassium from your water pill could make those plant compounds harder on your heart, possibly causing an irregular or unusually slow heartbeat. This is a theoretical worry based on how the ingredients behave, not something well documented in people. Still, I'd skip the pleurisy root and check with your pharmacist or doctor first.
