Prolotherapy and Amphetamine

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Amphetamine and Prolotherapy in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Prolotherapy alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Prolotherapy at all — not against Amphetamine, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Prolotherapy is a treatment rather than something you take. Tell whoever provides it which medicines you use, and ask your prescriber whether it is appropriate for your health and treatment. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Prolotherapy safety at a glance

Prolotherapy overall Use caution Generally considered low-risk when performed by a trained clinician, but it is an invasive injection with possible side effects.
Pregnancy Avoid Not recommended during pregnancy due to lack of safety data and the use of injections and anesthetics.
Breastfeeding Use caution Safety has not been well studied; discuss with your doctor before considering it.

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.

Where does our data come from?
  • Source: the Natural Medicines (TRC Healthcare) clinical database — the evidence-graded professional reference for herb & supplement interactions. Prolotherapy is not yet covered by that licensed database, so its write-up cites publicly available medical sources directly (see the references below).
  • Citation library: 103,510 references behind our interaction content, 65,311 of them resolved to verified PubMed/DOI sources. See every Prolotherapy reference on this page ↓
  • Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified September 13, 2026. The Prolotherapy and Amphetamine records this page draws on were last updated June 20, 2026.
  • What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.

About Prolotherapy

What is Prolotherapy?

  • Chronic low back pain
  • Knee osteoarthritis
  • Tendon and ligament pain
  • Joint instability
  • Tennis elbow and other tendinopathies

Prolotherapy is not a dietary supplement or herb; it is an injection procedure in which an irritant solution (usually dextrose) is injected near painful joints, tendons, or ligaments to encourage a healing response. The evidence is mixed and generally low-to-moderate quality, with some studies showing modest pain relief for conditions like knee osteoarthritis and chronic low back pain. It should only be done by a trained, licensed clinician, so talk with your doctor before considering it.

Not applicable (a medical injection procedure) · Injected solution, most often dextrose (sugar water) mixed with a local anesthetic

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Prolotherapy is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Prolotherapy record says about it on its own.

Prolotherapy: dosing

There is no single standard dose or protocol for prolotherapy. The type of solution (most often dextrose), the concentration, the amount injected, the number of injection sites, and how many sessions are needed all vary based on the clinician, the body area, and the condition being treated.Treatment is usually given as a series of sessions spaced a few weeks apart.
